Our founder, CEO and intrepid tea explorer - Henrietta has only gone and finished her book, at last.

Join our very own indomitable Rare Tea Lady on her mission to revolutionise the world of tea. Infused offers a fascinating insight into her adventures across the globe, and explains how her love affair with tea has shaped her life. Unsurprisingly, her pursuit of our lovely leaves has got her into a fair amount of hot water along the way.

Wow

I wasn't totally sure what to expect when I purchased this book, but it was so much more than I expected. A brilliant piece of food writing, conveying beautifully the author's passion for and wealth of knowledge on delicious, sustainable teas. But also a memoir, following the author's adventures in tea across both years and continents. I can't recommend this gorgeous book enough to any tea lover.

Loved it

Eventyally a book about tea and for tea lovers. I really enjoyed it, every page of it: I loved Henrietta's story and her adventures in tea. I really didn't expect that much: stories, ideas, informations about tea...such a great mix!

Such a wonderful journey

I picked up your book at a local cafe yesterday. It was just there, standing in front of me and I couldn’t resist. I can’t bear it. I can’t bear to put it down because I want to keep living between its pages and I can’t bear to pick it up because I don’t want it to end. It’s such a wonderful journey - I mean the journey from page to page. I find my favourite reading these days is less about absorption (knowledge) but more about infusion (the writer’s presence, shimmer, song). Like Micheal Cunningham’s ‘Land’s End, A Walk Through Provincetown’, or W.G. Seabals ‘Austerlitz’, or any number of journal-istic travel-come-biographic texts. Yours has a touch of Debo Devonshire mixed in for an extra kick.

Great read

Don’t hesitate, buy this book and let yourself be whisked away in Henrietta’s captivating words. You’ll laugh, probably cry but you will definitely hang on every witty, well written word.

I could never pick a favorite tea but it’s easy to pick this book as my favorite book on tea!

I’m going to make a pretty bold statement. If I could have just one book on topic of tea, it would be this book, Infused by Henrietta Lovell. Of course, in reality, I own many books on the topic of tea, upwards of 30 books, I’d say. I have read a lot of books on the topic of tea... and this is the one I would choose. This was my second time reading it. The first time I read it on my own and the second time I listened to the audio. I especially recommend the audio version with Henrietta reading. Never in my life have I felt such an intimate connection with an author as I listened to her read her book. Not only did I feel like I was actually having a cup of tea with Henrietta but I also felt transported across the globe to tea farms in Malawi, Nepal, Taiwan, China, as well as iconic places like the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, all five of my senses fully engaged. I was there. In short, Henrietta is an excellent tea lady and an excellent storyteller. With the second read (or listen), Henrietta spoke to my soul. She brought me back to my tea roots. Confession: In the last couple years I got away from what initially made me fall in love with looseleaf tea, the small tea farmer and pure tea. I was temporarily seduced by the incredible world of flavored tea. Don’t get me wrong, I mean no judgment. But Henrietta reminded me about something that I knew but intentionally had amnesia: “When you read natural flavorings on an ingredients list you don’t know exactly what they contain & the maker doesn’t have to tell you because they are considered trade secrets“. That doesn’t mean we have to go without unique flavor combos. “There are exceptions, Earl Grey, for instance. But that should be all about adding a pure essential oil to enhance, not disguise. I’m not saying the Russians shouldn’t add jam to their cup of tea, or the British milk and sugar. They are honest additions. You put them in yourself and you know exactly what they are.” So with my purchasing power going forward, this is exactly what I’m going to do. If I want vanilla black tea, I’m going to cut open a real vanilla bean and store it in my tin of black tea. Thank you, Henrietta. ❤️
